ViewSonic's V350 dual-SIM droid hits the stores in June

ViewSonic V350 was announced back in February at the MWC, but it's just only now that it's ready to hit the shelves. The dual-SIM droid, capable of running on two different 3G networks, has been redesigned since February though.

We already met with the V350 in Barcelona. It was a good looking fella running on Android OS, even if it came with specs that are mid-range at best - a 600MHz processor, a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive display, 512MB RAM, a 5 megapixel snapper with WVGA video recording and the usual connectivity stuff.

The most interesting thing about the Froyo running V350 is the support for 3G network on both SIM cards. This means you can have both SIMs connected to a (different) 3G network.

While the hardware will remain the same inside, ViewSonic has slightly redesigned the panel. As you can see the shell has lost the rounded edges, the back looks different too, but the front is pretty much the same.

There is still no official info on the pricing of the smartphone of if it will eventually get updated to Gingerbread. We guess the details should be revealed soon, though.

Apple to unveil iOS 5 at WWDC '11 on Monday, June 6

We knew that Apple was going to hold the Worldwide Developer Conference or WWDC '11 on June 6 but could only guess what it would be about. Well, we no longer have to guess as Apple has just released a PR confirming the list of things that will be addressed in the keynote by Steve Jobs and Apple executives.

First of all it would be Lion, the next version of the Mac OS X operating system. Then they would also be talking about iCloud, Apple's upcoming cloud service. But what we are interested in most is iOS 5.

So what can we expect from iOS 5? Well for starters, full integration with Apple's iCloud services. We might also see that revamped multitasking system that was leaked a while back. And for the love of God a new notification system! Apart from these your guess is as good as ours.

After the event, Apple would surely make iOS 5 available to developers as they usually do for them to test their applications and report any bugs that they may encounter and then soon it will be released for the general public.

Symbian Anna running Nokia E6 and X7 now shipping, slowly

The first Symbian Anna phones, the Nokia E6 and the Nokia X7, are now shipping. Announced back in April, these two have been on pre-order for a while and now you can buy one, if you don’t mind a stretched out delivery date.

The touchscreen/QWERTY E-series messenger, the Nokia E6, will be available in Europe, Eurasia, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Nokia Germany’s online store still have it on pre-order for €429 while Italians can pre-order it for €399. The Nokia UK online store still lists it as available on pre-order for £349 (€400) SIM-free.

It is shipping now if you want to get it on a contract (phone is free with a £25/month contract with Vodafone or T-Mobile) or on pre-paid for £339 with Vodafone, T-Mobile or Orange. There’s a note saying you should allow 11 days for delivery.

The Nokia X7 and its 4” AMOLED screen will be headed to Europe, Eurasia, China, India and other Asia/Pacific countries. Its pre-order price in Germany (according to Nokia’s online store) is €459 and €429 in Italy, which is quite steep despite all of Symbian Anna’s improvements. It’s missing from the UK store right now.

We’re expecting Nokia’s online stores to switch the Nokia E6 and X7 status to “available” soon.

NVIDIA Kal El project demoed, to make dual-core CPUs obsolete

NVIDIA is on a roll. After introducing Tegra Zone - the Android app which offers the users suggestions which are optimized for its dual-core Tegra chips, the company demoed its latest work in progress - project Kal El.

In case you haven't read our recent post on the matter, project Kal El is the name of NVIDIA's quad-core mobile super chip. It will also bear the Tegra moniker, and its performance will be, well, unbelievable.

As you can see from the video, the "Glowball" gaming app is running on a Honeycomb tablet. What's really fascinating in the video, is the fact that the moving ball is the dynamic light source in the app. There are no preloaded animations and everything in the gaming environment responds naturally just like in real life.

Interestingly enough, the dual-core processors just began to roll out as mass market devices. We haven't even stopped raving about them yet and here we go - NVIDIA's latest project makes them look obsolete.

It is mentioned in the video that the retail version of the quad-core mobile CPU will be up to 30% faster that the unit from the demo. There is no release date yet but we all hope it will be sometimes this year
